{"apiVersion":"1.0","identifier":"CVE-2026-80677","description":"In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: driver core: use READ_ONCE() for dev->driver in dev_has_sync_state() dev_has_sync_state() reads dev->driver twice without holding device_lock() -- once for the NULL check and once to dereference ->sync_state. Some callers only hold device_links_write_lock, which doesn-t prevent a concurrent unbind from clearing dev->driver via device_unbind_cleanup(). Fix it by reading dev->driver exactly once with READ_ONCE(), pairing with the WRITE_ONCE() in device_set_driver().","publishedAt":"2026-08-28T08:16:52","lastModifiedAt":"2026-08-28T08:16:52","sourceUrl":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-80677","cvssScore":null,"cvssVector":"Pending","epssProbability":0.00176,"riskScore":0,"affectedProduct":"Linux kernel","affectedVersions":"unknown","vulnerabilityType":"Kernel","operatingSystems":[],"links":{"self":"https://www.redsauce.net/api/cves/CVE-2026-80677","webPages":{"es":"https://www.redsauce.net/es/cves/CVE-2026-80677","en":"https://www.redsauce.net/en/cves/CVE-2026-80677","fr":"https://www.redsauce.net/fr/cves/CVE-2026-80677","pt":"https://www.redsauce.net/pt/cves/CVE-2026-80677","de":"https://www.redsauce.net/de/cves/CVE-2026-80677","sk":"https://www.redsauce.net/sk/cves/CVE-2026-80677","el":"https://www.redsauce.net/el/cves/CVE-2026-80677"},"source":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-80677"}}
