{"apiVersion":"1.0","identifier":"CVE-2026-80663","description":"In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tools/power/x86/intel-speed-select: Harden daemon pidfile open Avoid symlink-based pidfile clobbering by opening the pidfile with O_NOFOLLOW and validating it with fstat() before locking/writing. The daemon currently uses a fixed pidfile path under /tmp. A local unprivileged user can pre-create a symlink at that path and cause a root-run daemon instance to write into an attacker-chosen file.","publishedAt":"2026-08-28T08:16:51","lastModifiedAt":"2026-08-28T08:16:51","sourceUrl":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-80663","cvssScore":null,"cvssVector":"Pending","epssProbability":0.00172,"riskScore":0,"affectedProduct":"Linux kernel","affectedVersions":"unknown","vulnerabilityType":"Kernel","operatingSystems":[],"links":{"self":"https://www.redsauce.net/api/cves/CVE-2026-80663","webPages":{"es":"https://www.redsauce.net/es/cves/CVE-2026-80663","en":"https://www.redsauce.net/en/cves/CVE-2026-80663","fr":"https://www.redsauce.net/fr/cves/CVE-2026-80663","pt":"https://www.redsauce.net/pt/cves/CVE-2026-80663","de":"https://www.redsauce.net/de/cves/CVE-2026-80663","sk":"https://www.redsauce.net/sk/cves/CVE-2026-80663","el":"https://www.redsauce.net/el/cves/CVE-2026-80663"},"source":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-80663"}}
