{"apiVersion":"1.0","identifier":"CVE-2026-79769","description":"Nokogiri versions before 1.19.4 contain a possible invalid (out-of-bounds) memory read in the protected internal Node#initialize_copy_with_args helper behind Node#dup and #clone, which unwrapped its source argument as an xmlNode without a type check. If application code calls this protected method with a non-Node argument (e.g., a Namespace), it reads an xmlNs out of bounds, crashing the process. This is only triggerable by a programming error and cannot be triggered by untrusted input or normal use of the public API. Only CRuby is affected. Version 1.19.4 adds a type check and raises TypeError.","publishedAt":"2026-08-25T16:17:28","lastModifiedAt":"2026-08-26T17:17:23","sourceUrl":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-79769","cvssScore":5.5,"cvssVector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","epssProbability":0.00181,"riskScore":0.56,"affectedProduct":"Nokogiri","affectedVersions":"<1.19.4","vulnerabilityType":"Library","operatingSystems":[],"links":{"self":"https://www.redsauce.net/api/cves/CVE-2026-79769","webPages":{"es":"https://www.redsauce.net/es/cves/CVE-2026-79769","en":"https://www.redsauce.net/en/cves/CVE-2026-79769","fr":"https://www.redsauce.net/fr/cves/CVE-2026-79769","pt":"https://www.redsauce.net/pt/cves/CVE-2026-79769","de":"https://www.redsauce.net/de/cves/CVE-2026-79769","sk":"https://www.redsauce.net/sk/cves/CVE-2026-79769","el":"https://www.redsauce.net/el/cves/CVE-2026-79769"},"source":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-79769"}}
