{"apiVersion":"1.0","identifier":"CVE-2026-74457","description":"In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: can: peak_usb: add bounds check for USB channel index The channel control index ctrl_idx is derived from rx->len which comes directly from a device USB payload. The mask 0x0f allows values 0-15, but the array size of usb_if->dev[] is only 2. Values 2-15 cause heap out-of-bounds read, eventually causing kernel panic in the IRQ context. Add bounds checking for ctrl_idx before the array access in both pcan_usb_pro_handle_canmsg() and pcan_usb_pro_handle_error().","publishedAt":"2026-08-15T13:17:50","lastModifiedAt":"2026-08-19T17:21:02","sourceUrl":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-74457","cvssScore":null,"cvssVector":"Pending","epssProbability":0.00177,"riskScore":0,"affectedProduct":"Linux kernel","affectedVersions":"unknown","vulnerabilityType":"Kernel","operatingSystems":[],"links":{"self":"https://www.redsauce.net/api/cves/CVE-2026-74457","webPages":{"es":"https://www.redsauce.net/es/cves/CVE-2026-74457","en":"https://www.redsauce.net/en/cves/CVE-2026-74457","fr":"https://www.redsauce.net/fr/cves/CVE-2026-74457","pt":"https://www.redsauce.net/pt/cves/CVE-2026-74457","de":"https://www.redsauce.net/de/cves/CVE-2026-74457","sk":"https://www.redsauce.net/sk/cves/CVE-2026-74457","el":"https://www.redsauce.net/el/cves/CVE-2026-74457"},"source":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-74457"}}
