{"apiVersion":"1.0","identifier":"CVE-2026-74291","description":"In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ASoC: topology: Check PCM and DAI name strings before use Topology objects store several PCM and DAI names in fixed-size UAPI arrays. Other topology parser paths validate these fields with bounded strnlen() checks before using them as C strings, but the PCM and DAI paths still pass some fixed-size arrays directly to strlen(), devm_kstrdup(), DAI lookup, and diagnostic prints. A malformed topology blob with a non-NUL-terminated PCM, DAI, or stream capability name can therefore make the parser read past the end of the fixed-size field. Reject unterminated PCM and DAI name fields before consuming them as C strings.","publishedAt":"2026-08-15T06:22:28","lastModifiedAt":"2026-08-17T06:19:23","sourceUrl":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-74291","cvssScore":null,"cvssVector":"Pending","epssProbability":0.00155,"riskScore":0,"affectedProduct":"linux","affectedVersions":"unknown","vulnerabilityType":"Kernel","operatingSystems":[],"links":{"self":"https://www.redsauce.net/api/cves/CVE-2026-74291","webPages":{"es":"https://www.redsauce.net/es/cves/CVE-2026-74291","en":"https://www.redsauce.net/en/cves/CVE-2026-74291","fr":"https://www.redsauce.net/fr/cves/CVE-2026-74291","pt":"https://www.redsauce.net/pt/cves/CVE-2026-74291","de":"https://www.redsauce.net/de/cves/CVE-2026-74291","sk":"https://www.redsauce.net/sk/cves/CVE-2026-74291","el":"https://www.redsauce.net/el/cves/CVE-2026-74291"},"source":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-74291"}}
