{"apiVersion":"1.0","identifier":"CVE-2026-73291","description":"Seerr is an open-source media request and discovery manager for Jellyfin, Plex, and Emby. Prior to version 3.4.0, Seerr-s ImageProxy in server/lib/imageproxy.ts uses the upstream ETag and Content-Type response headers to build a cache filename for the unauthenticated GET /avatarproxy/:jellyfinUserId route, allowing a malicious or compromised Jellyfin or Emby server, or a man-in-the-middle attacker on a plaintext media-server connection, to supply traversal sequences that path.join and fs.writeFile normalize outside the cache directory, overwrite /app/dist/index.js or other files, and execute code as the node user after a container restart. This issue is fixed in version 3.4.0.","publishedAt":"2026-08-12T15:18:33","lastModifiedAt":"2026-08-13T17:17:36","sourceUrl":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-73291","cvssScore":7.1,"cvssVector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:A/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:H/A:H","epssProbability":0.00273,"riskScore":0.73,"affectedProduct":"Seerr","affectedVersions":"<3.4.0","vulnerabilityType":"Web app","operatingSystems":[],"links":{"self":"https://www.redsauce.net/api/cves/CVE-2026-73291","webPages":{"es":"https://www.redsauce.net/es/cves/CVE-2026-73291","en":"https://www.redsauce.net/en/cves/CVE-2026-73291","fr":"https://www.redsauce.net/fr/cves/CVE-2026-73291","pt":"https://www.redsauce.net/pt/cves/CVE-2026-73291","de":"https://www.redsauce.net/de/cves/CVE-2026-73291","sk":"https://www.redsauce.net/sk/cves/CVE-2026-73291","el":"https://www.redsauce.net/el/cves/CVE-2026-73291"},"source":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-73291"}}
