{"apiVersion":"1.0","identifier":"CVE-2026-72462","description":"In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: apparmor: fix race in unix socket mediation when peer_path is used The holding a reference to the peer_sk is not enough to ensure access to the peer sk path. Accessing the path outside of the state lock allows for a race with unix_release_sock(). Fix this by taking the state lock and getting a reference to the path under lock. Ideally for connected sockets we would cache this information so we don-t have to take the lock here. But for now just fix the race.","publishedAt":"2026-08-15T06:22:20","lastModifiedAt":"2026-08-17T06:19:13","sourceUrl":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-72462","cvssScore":8.8,"cvssVector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H","epssProbability":0.00127,"riskScore":0.89,"affectedProduct":"Linux kernel","affectedVersions":"unknown","vulnerabilityType":"Kernel","operatingSystems":[],"links":{"self":"https://www.redsauce.net/api/cves/CVE-2026-72462","webPages":{"es":"https://www.redsauce.net/es/cves/CVE-2026-72462","en":"https://www.redsauce.net/en/cves/CVE-2026-72462","fr":"https://www.redsauce.net/fr/cves/CVE-2026-72462","pt":"https://www.redsauce.net/pt/cves/CVE-2026-72462","de":"https://www.redsauce.net/de/cves/CVE-2026-72462","sk":"https://www.redsauce.net/sk/cves/CVE-2026-72462","el":"https://www.redsauce.net/el/cves/CVE-2026-72462"},"source":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-72462"}}
