{"apiVersion":"1.0","identifier":"CVE-2026-72403","description":"In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: FCP: Fix NULL pointer dereference in interface lookup A malformed USB device can provide a vendor-specific interface without any endpoint descriptors. fcp_find_fc_interface() currently selects the first vendor-specific interface and reads endpoint 0 from it, without checking whether the interface actually has any endpoints. When bNumEndpoints is zero, no endpoint array is allocated for the parsed alternate setting, so get_endpoint(..., 0) yields an invalid endpoint descriptor pointer. Dereferencing it through usb_endpoint_num() then triggers a NULL pointer dereference. Skip vendor-specific interfaces that do not have any endpoints.","publishedAt":"2026-08-15T06:22:13","lastModifiedAt":"2026-08-17T06:19:06","sourceUrl":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-72403","cvssScore":null,"cvssVector":"Pending","epssProbability":0.00198,"riskScore":0,"affectedProduct":"Linux kernel","affectedVersions":"unknown","vulnerabilityType":"Kernel","operatingSystems":[],"links":{"self":"https://www.redsauce.net/api/cves/CVE-2026-72403","webPages":{"es":"https://www.redsauce.net/es/cves/CVE-2026-72403","en":"https://www.redsauce.net/en/cves/CVE-2026-72403","fr":"https://www.redsauce.net/fr/cves/CVE-2026-72403","pt":"https://www.redsauce.net/pt/cves/CVE-2026-72403","de":"https://www.redsauce.net/de/cves/CVE-2026-72403","sk":"https://www.redsauce.net/sk/cves/CVE-2026-72403","el":"https://www.redsauce.net/el/cves/CVE-2026-72403"},"source":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-72403"}}
