{"apiVersion":"1.0","identifier":"CVE-2026-72302","description":"In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ASoC: SOF: ipc3-control: Use overflow checks in control_update size calc In sof_ipc3_control_update(), the expected_size calculation uses firmware-provided cdata->num_elems in arithmetic that could overflow on 32-bit platforms, wrapping to a small value. This would allow the cdata->rhdr.hdr.size comparison to pass with mismatched sizes, potentially leading to out-of-bounds access in snd_sof_update_control. Use check_mul_overflow() and check_add_overflow() to detect and reject overflowed size calculations.","publishedAt":"2026-08-15T06:22:02","lastModifiedAt":"2026-08-17T06:18:33","sourceUrl":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-72302","cvssScore":7.8,"cvssVector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","epssProbability":0.00177,"riskScore":0.79,"affectedProduct":"Linux kernel","affectedVersions":"unknown","vulnerabilityType":"Kernel","operatingSystems":[],"links":{"self":"https://www.redsauce.net/api/cves/CVE-2026-72302","webPages":{"es":"https://www.redsauce.net/es/cves/CVE-2026-72302","en":"https://www.redsauce.net/en/cves/CVE-2026-72302","fr":"https://www.redsauce.net/fr/cves/CVE-2026-72302","pt":"https://www.redsauce.net/pt/cves/CVE-2026-72302","de":"https://www.redsauce.net/de/cves/CVE-2026-72302","sk":"https://www.redsauce.net/sk/cves/CVE-2026-72302","el":"https://www.redsauce.net/el/cves/CVE-2026-72302"},"source":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-72302"}}
