{"apiVersion":"1.0","identifier":"CVE-2026-72244","description":"In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: gpu/buddy: bail out of try_harder when alignment cannot be honoured The try_harder contiguous fallback could return a range whose start offset did not match the caller-s min_block_size. When a candidate-s start is misaligned, realign it: free the misaligned run and reallocate exactly @size at the next lower min_block_size boundary. This keeps the returned size unchanged with no surplus to trim, and rejects the request only when no aligned candidate fits. v2: align misaligned candidates down to min_block_size instead of bailing out, for both the RHS and LHS paths (Matthew).","publishedAt":"2026-08-15T06:21:51","lastModifiedAt":"2026-08-17T06:18:26","sourceUrl":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-72244","cvssScore":7.8,"cvssVector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","epssProbability":0.00163,"riskScore":0.79,"affectedProduct":"Linux kernel","affectedVersions":"unknown","vulnerabilityType":"Kernel","operatingSystems":[],"links":{"self":"https://www.redsauce.net/api/cves/CVE-2026-72244","webPages":{"es":"https://www.redsauce.net/es/cves/CVE-2026-72244","en":"https://www.redsauce.net/en/cves/CVE-2026-72244","fr":"https://www.redsauce.net/fr/cves/CVE-2026-72244","pt":"https://www.redsauce.net/pt/cves/CVE-2026-72244","de":"https://www.redsauce.net/de/cves/CVE-2026-72244","sk":"https://www.redsauce.net/sk/cves/CVE-2026-72244","el":"https://www.redsauce.net/el/cves/CVE-2026-72244"},"source":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-72244"}}
