{"apiVersion":"1.0","identifier":"CVE-2026-72051","description":"In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ip6_tunnel: require CAP_NET_ADMIN in the device netns for changelink ip6_tnl_changelink() operates on at most two netns, dev_net(dev) and the tunnel link netns t->net. They differ once the device is created in or moved to a netns other than the one the request runs in. The rtnl changelink path checks CAP_NET_ADMIN only against dev_net(dev), so a caller privileged there but not in t->net can rewrite a tunnel that lives in t->net. Gate ip6_tnl_changelink() on rtnl_dev_link_net_capable() at its top, before any attribute is parsed.","publishedAt":"2026-08-15T06:21:14","lastModifiedAt":"2026-08-23T13:16:38","sourceUrl":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-72051","cvssScore":8.8,"cvssVector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H","epssProbability":0.00164,"riskScore":0.89,"affectedProduct":"Linux kernel","affectedVersions":"unknown","vulnerabilityType":"Kernel","operatingSystems":[],"links":{"self":"https://www.redsauce.net/api/cves/CVE-2026-72051","webPages":{"es":"https://www.redsauce.net/es/cves/CVE-2026-72051","en":"https://www.redsauce.net/en/cves/CVE-2026-72051","fr":"https://www.redsauce.net/fr/cves/CVE-2026-72051","pt":"https://www.redsauce.net/pt/cves/CVE-2026-72051","de":"https://www.redsauce.net/de/cves/CVE-2026-72051","sk":"https://www.redsauce.net/sk/cves/CVE-2026-72051","el":"https://www.redsauce.net/el/cves/CVE-2026-72051"},"source":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-72051"}}
