{"apiVersion":"1.0","identifier":"CVE-2026-71194","description":"In OpenStack Designate before 22.0.2, the mDNS handler performs pool-blind lookups when resolving record queries and NOTIFY requests. When two zones with the same name exist across different pools, the lookup fails with a deterministic error, causing the handler to return REFUSED for all DNS queries through that path. The _handle_notify path is exploitable via a single unauthenticated UDP packet. This is independently reachable through the cross-tenant zone overlap described in a different recent CVE, and also affects legitimate same-tenant cross-pool configurations. BIND9 views do not mitigate this issue as mDNS is a shared service upstream of any view configuration.","publishedAt":"2026-08-12T23:17:22","lastModifiedAt":"2026-08-13T14:17:12","sourceUrl":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-71194","cvssScore":6.8,"cvssVector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:N/I:N/A:H","epssProbability":0.00305,"riskScore":0.7,"affectedProduct":"OpenStack Designate","affectedVersions":"<22.0.2","vulnerabilityType":"Library","operatingSystems":[],"links":{"self":"https://www.redsauce.net/api/cves/CVE-2026-71194","webPages":{"es":"https://www.redsauce.net/es/cves/CVE-2026-71194","en":"https://www.redsauce.net/en/cves/CVE-2026-71194","fr":"https://www.redsauce.net/fr/cves/CVE-2026-71194","pt":"https://www.redsauce.net/pt/cves/CVE-2026-71194","de":"https://www.redsauce.net/de/cves/CVE-2026-71194","sk":"https://www.redsauce.net/sk/cves/CVE-2026-71194","el":"https://www.redsauce.net/el/cves/CVE-2026-71194"},"source":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-71194"}}
