{"apiVersion":"1.0","identifier":"CVE-2026-59186","description":"OpenEXR is the reference implementation and specification for the EXR image format, widely used in the motion picture industry. In versions before 3.2.11, 3.3.0 through 3.3.12, and 3.4.0 through 3.4.13, a crafted tiled EXR can trigger a heap out-of-bounds write on 32-bit/ILP32 builds when read through the public TiledRgbaInputFile RGBA API. The file uses a small 40x40 dataWindow but a 65537x65537 tile size. On ILP32, the Array2D<Rgba> tile-conversion buffer size calculation overflows, allocates a much smaller heap buffer, and tile decode writes past that allocation. This issue is fixed in versions 3.2.11, 3.3.13, and 3.4.14.","publishedAt":"2026-08-25T17:17:36","lastModifiedAt":"2026-08-25T19:16:51","sourceUrl":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-59186","cvssScore":7.1,"cvssVector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:H","epssProbability":0.00224,"riskScore":0.72,"affectedProduct":"OpenEXR","affectedVersions":"<3.2.11,>=3.3.0,<3.3.13,>=3.4.0,<3.4.14","vulnerabilityType":"Library","operatingSystems":[],"links":{"self":"https://www.redsauce.net/api/cves/CVE-2026-59186","webPages":{"es":"https://www.redsauce.net/es/cves/CVE-2026-59186","en":"https://www.redsauce.net/en/cves/CVE-2026-59186","fr":"https://www.redsauce.net/fr/cves/CVE-2026-59186","pt":"https://www.redsauce.net/pt/cves/CVE-2026-59186","de":"https://www.redsauce.net/de/cves/CVE-2026-59186","sk":"https://www.redsauce.net/sk/cves/CVE-2026-59186","el":"https://www.redsauce.net/el/cves/CVE-2026-59186"},"source":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-59186"}}
