{"apiVersion":"1.0","identifier":"CVE-2026-58083","description":"While the kernel was copying knotes during fork, a knote with a timer-based filter could fire and be enqueued on the kqueue-s active list before the copy was complete. The copy routine did not account for this and could enqueue the new knote a second time, corrupting the active list. In addition, the copy routine did not hold the appropriate locks while reading knote state, allowing further races. An unprivileged local user can trigger a use-after-free in the kernel, potentially leading to privilege escalation.","publishedAt":"2026-08-19T08:17:12","lastModifiedAt":"2026-08-26T16:54:50","sourceUrl":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-58083","cvssScore":8.4,"cvssVector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","epssProbability":0.00123,"riskScore":0.85,"affectedProduct":"FreeBSD","affectedVersions":"unknown","vulnerabilityType":"Kernel","operatingSystems":[],"links":{"self":"https://www.redsauce.net/api/cves/CVE-2026-58083","webPages":{"es":"https://www.redsauce.net/es/cves/CVE-2026-58083","en":"https://www.redsauce.net/en/cves/CVE-2026-58083","fr":"https://www.redsauce.net/fr/cves/CVE-2026-58083","pt":"https://www.redsauce.net/pt/cves/CVE-2026-58083","de":"https://www.redsauce.net/de/cves/CVE-2026-58083","sk":"https://www.redsauce.net/sk/cves/CVE-2026-58083","el":"https://www.redsauce.net/el/cves/CVE-2026-58083"},"source":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-58083"}}
