{"apiVersion":"1.0","identifier":"CVE-2026-50290","description":"SpecifyJS is a declarative TypeScript user interface framework. Prior to version 0.2.136, CSS value sanitization stripped `expression(` and `url(javascript:` using simple regex, but could be bypassed with CSS unicode escapes (`\\65xpression(`), null bytes, or CSS comments (`exp/**/ression(`). These CSS injection vectors only work in legacy browsers (IE6-IE10). SpecifyJS targets modern browsers. Starting in version 0.2.136, CSS sanitization now normalizes unicode escapes and strips CSS comments before pattern matching. Also checks for `behavior:`, `-moz-binding`, and `-o-link` patterns.","publishedAt":"2026-08-21T20:16:36","lastModifiedAt":"2026-08-21T21:16:59","sourceUrl":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-50290","cvssScore":5.3,"cvssVector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:P/VC:N/VI:N/VA:N/SC:L/SI:L/SA:N/E:X/CR:X/IR:X/AR:X/MAV:X/MAC:X/MAT:X/MPR:X/MUI:X/MVC:X/MVI:X/MVA:X/MSC:X/MSI:X/MSA:X/S:X/AU:X/R:X/V:X/RE:X/U:X","epssProbability":0.00356,"riskScore":0.55,"affectedProduct":"SpecifyJS","affectedVersions":"<0.2.136","vulnerabilityType":"Library","operatingSystems":[],"links":{"self":"https://www.redsauce.net/api/cves/CVE-2026-50290","webPages":{"es":"https://www.redsauce.net/es/cves/CVE-2026-50290","en":"https://www.redsauce.net/en/cves/CVE-2026-50290","fr":"https://www.redsauce.net/fr/cves/CVE-2026-50290","pt":"https://www.redsauce.net/pt/cves/CVE-2026-50290","de":"https://www.redsauce.net/de/cves/CVE-2026-50290","sk":"https://www.redsauce.net/sk/cves/CVE-2026-50290","el":"https://www.redsauce.net/el/cves/CVE-2026-50290"},"source":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-50290"}}
