{"apiVersion":"1.0","identifier":"CVE-2026-41079","description":"OpenPrinting CUPS is an open source printing system for Linux and other Unix-like operating systems. Prior to 2.4.17, a network-adjacent attacker can send a crafted SNMP response to the CUPS SNMP backend that causes an out-of-bounds read of up to 176 bytes past a stack buffer. The leaked memory is converted from UTF-16 to UTF-8 and stored as printer supply description strings, which are subsequently visible to authenticated users via IPP Get-Printer-Attributes responses and the CUPS web interface. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.4.17.","publishedAt":"2026-04-24T17:16:21","lastModifiedAt":null,"sourceUrl":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-41079","cvssScore":5.4,"cvssVector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:A/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:L","epssProbability":0.00409,"riskScore":0.56,"affectedProduct":"OpenPrinting CUPS","affectedVersions":"<2.4.17","vulnerabilityType":"Core software","operatingSystems":[],"links":{"self":"https://www.redsauce.net/api/cves/CVE-2026-41079","webPages":{"es":"https://www.redsauce.net/es/cves/CVE-2026-41079","en":"https://www.redsauce.net/en/cves/CVE-2026-41079","fr":"https://www.redsauce.net/fr/cves/CVE-2026-41079","pt":"https://www.redsauce.net/pt/cves/CVE-2026-41079","de":"https://www.redsauce.net/de/cves/CVE-2026-41079","sk":"https://www.redsauce.net/sk/cves/CVE-2026-41079","el":"https://www.redsauce.net/el/cves/CVE-2026-41079"},"source":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-41079"}}
